PROGRAM / ITINERARY

  • DAY 1: INTO THE AMAZON
  • Hotel or airport pickup and transfer to Bellavista Nanay port.
  • Navigation on the Amazon River and observation of the meeting of waters between the Nanay and Amazon rivers.
  • Search for pink and gray river dolphins in their natural habitat.
  • Arrival at the Jungle Lodge, check-in and self-service lunch with typical jungle food.
  • Afternoon visit to Monkey Island to interact with rescued primates.
  • Piranha fishing experience using traditional wooden rods.
  • Dinner at the lodge.
  • Night excursion by boat or hiking to search for caimans, tarantulas and nocturnal wildlife.
  • Overnight stay at the Jungle Lodge.
  • DAY 2: INDIGENOUS CULTURE & RESCUE CENTER
  • Early morning boat ride to watch the sunrise and observe parrots, macaws and other birds.
  • Breakfast at the lodge and preparation for the morning trek.
  • Visit to the Yaguas native community to learn about their customs, dances and use of the blowpipe.
  • Lunch at the lodge and check-out.
  • Visit to the animal rescue center to see toucans, macaws, prehistoric turtles, sloths and anacondas.
  • Return to Iquitos and drop-off at your hotel or airport.
